Dr. Chaker’s clinical research focuses on the association between thyroid function, both overt and subclinical, and diseases related to aging, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular and neurological diseases. She performs her epidemiological studies in the context of the Rotterdam Study, a prospective cohort study, and has conducted several systematic reviews and meta-analyses in international collaboration through the Thyroid Studies Collaboration.
