Tânia Ortiga - or Tânia Ortiga-Carvalho - is Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Translational Endocrinology at the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she also holds the position of Coordinator of the graduate program in Sciences Biological Sciences (Physiology) since May 2018. She has a PhD in Sciences with an emphasis on endocrine physiology at the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute, at UFRJ. He did post-doctorate in Endocrinology and Molecular Biology at The University of Chicago. He has extensive experience in the areas of Endocrine Physiology and Endocrinology with an emphasis on Molecular Biology, working mainly on the following themes: Mechanism of action and effects of thyroid hormones and Physiology of Reproduction. She has been an Associate Editor of Thyroid journal since October 2013. And She has been a member of LATS since 1993.
