After obtaining her degree in Biology at the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) Dr. Dentice worked to Department of Biology and Cellular and Molecular Biology and after she moved to Harvard Medical School University (USA) at Thyroid Division. In 2005, she obtained her PhD in General Pathology at the University of Naples Federico II. Next she had been awarded with several prizes. In 2013, she won the International Price from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei on Thyroid research and in 2016 she obtained the Harington-de Visscher Prize from the European Thyroid Association. In 2014 she obtained the Starting Grant ERC from the Horazon 2020 program of the European Council of Research. Next, she became a member of the ’Executive Comettee of the European Thyroid Association and also she has been a member of the Scientific Comettee of  the Italian Thyroid Association. At present, she serves as Editorial Board of European Thyroid Journal. Actually, she is Associate Professor of Physiology at the Departement of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, University of Naples Federico II. Professor Dentice’s research is focused on the role of the intracellular metabolism of Thyroid Hormone (TH) and its effects on the patho-physiology of skeletal muscle. Also, she received an AIRC grant as PI to investigate the effects of the modulation of TH signalling in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition and tumor progression of skin cancers and on cancer stem cells.
