Assistant Professor of reproductive health and midwifery at Varamin-Pishva Branch, Islamic Azad University, and researcher at Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Iran.
Sima
Nazarpour was born in Iran. She received
her Bachelor's degree in Midwifery from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical
Sciences in 1992 and received her Master Degree in Midwifery from Iran
University of Medical Sciences in 1994. She received her PhD in Reproductive
health in 2015 from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
Her PhD
thesis title was "Study of Prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism during pregnancy and assessment of the effect of Levothyroxine on
pregnancy outcome of euthyroid pregnant women with positive TPO antibody"
based on the Tehran thyroid and pregnancy study.
In
September 1995 she was appointed as a faculty member of midwifery at
Varamin-Pishva Branch, Islamic Azad University, and after receiving her PhD,
received tenure as assistant professor in 2015.
She has
held a number of administrative positions, including head of the faculty of
Nursing and Midwifery and Director of the Midwifery Department.
She has
several studies in the field of thyroid and pregnancy and her research interests
include Reproductive endocrinology, especially in thyroid disorders, Iodine
insufficiency, pregnancy outcomes, breast cancer, air pollution and maternal or
fetal adverse outcomes.
She is also serving as investigator on research into thyroid and pregnancy at Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
